This policy explains how personal data are processed on this site, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).

2. What data we process and why

a) Browsing

This site uses no forms, analytics cookies or tracking tools, and loads no third-party resources (fonts, videos or embedded social media). UPV's server logs technical access data (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) solely to ensure the security and proper operation of the service.

  • Legal basis: performance of a task carried out in the public interest (Art. 6(1)(e) GDPR) relating to the security of information systems.
  • Retention: only as long as necessary for that purpose, in line with UPV's information security policy.

b) E-mail communications

If you write to us, we will process your address and any data you include in order to answer your enquiry and, where relevant, manage your participation in project activities.

  • Legal basis: your request and the public interest in disseminating an EU-funded project (Art. 6(1)(e) GDPR).
  • Retention: as long as needed to handle the enquiry and, at most, the duration of the project plus the reporting and audit periods required by the grant agreement.

c) Project team data

The "UPV team" page shows the name, position, project role, a photograph and a short professional profile of the UPV staff taking part in ELIA, in order to present the project and the people responsible for it.

  • Legal basis: consent of the individuals concerned (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which they may withdraw at any time by writing to angel.peiro@upv.es.
  • Retention: for the duration of their involvement in the project and the website maintenance period, or until consent is withdrawn.

d) Events and images

Registration for events, surveys or newsletters, if enabled, will come with its own privacy notice at the point of collection. Photos or videos of identifiable people are only published with their express consent (and, for minors, that of their legal guardians).

3. Recipients

Data are not disclosed to third parties unless required by law. Where necessary for implementing the project (e.g. attendance lists), data may be shared with the project coordinator and the European Commission / EACEA for monitoring and audit purposes. No transfers outside the European Economic Area take place unless expressly stated.

4. Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to UPV's Data Protection Officer at dpd@upv.es. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
